Office printing is a daily task that you could be spending too much money on
Here are 5 money-saving tips.
The focus for this week is office printing. Reviewing your office printing can reduce print costs and environmental impact. Keep reading to see what simple changes your organisation could implement in order to save money:
Think before you print
Encourage your colleagues to think about the ink and paper used. Make information on how to preview before you print, to print in black and white and to print duplex readily available around your office space. Our HP devices can be set to request a PIN prior to releasing a print job – one simple way to avoid unnecessary printing.
Look for sleep mode
Some devices print a test page automatically after restart, wasting valuable ink and paper. Our printers, such as the HP LaserJet Pro M501n, are industry-leading for energy efficiency. Its energy-efficient sleep mode uses just 1.3 watts in sleep mode (a modern phone charger, when plugged in but not connected to a device, use approximately half a watt) amounts to a cost of a few pence across a year – far less than the cost of one unnecessary print out every single day.
Managed Print Services
An MPS contract saves money on print spend while removing the hassle associated with managing a fleet of machines. Our Managed Print Services contracts start from as little as £22 per month for 1000 pages and include: new HP equipment, ink, paper, servicing and warranty. Your new hardware is remotely monitored and for maintenance issues and stock levels, with required consumables dispatch as required. Subsequently, a MPS contract eliminates admin time spent re-ordering stock, fixing machines and renegotiating with suppliers for the best price – giving you more time to focus on your other tasks. Any unused pages will be rolled-on to the following month, for long term great value. Click here to download our MPS brochure.
Have the best equipment
Inkjet devices are cheaper upfront, but they chomp through consumables at a rate of knots. They’re also susceptible to malfunctioning, their ink nozzles prone to clogging with dried-up ink. Our cost-saving MPS contracts are all inclusive of a HP Laserjet printers, so you don’t have to choose between expensive ongoing consumables or a pricey upfront investment.
Use higher quality paper
Cheap paper is more likely to jam a printer, which not only wastes paper but uses more ink as well. By using higher quality printing paper, you’ll save on consumables in the long run.
