Our pledge to sustainable and responsible operations

Building a better future through ESG and community initiatives

At United, we recognise that sustainability starts at home. That’s why we’re committed to embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into every aspect of our operations. From supporting local communities to fostering a sustainable workplace, we’re working hard to make a positive impact. Discover the initiatives that drive us forward and the steps we take to promote a culture of responsibility within our company.

Commitment to ESG standards

Embedding ESG principles into our core

At United, our commitment to ESG standards goes beyond compliance; it's a way of doing business. We strive to reduce our environmental footprint, champion social equity, and maintain the highest governance standards.

From carbon management training for staff to transparent reporting processes, we're integrating sustainability into our daily operations. By embedding these principles, we aim to create meaningful impacts within our organisation and the wider community.

Progress in numbers

  • Carbon reduction: Targeting 3% annual decrease in CO2 emissions.

  • Training: 100% of staff to complete ESG and sustainability awareness training.

  • Achievements: Net zero fleet goal by 2035 and reduced single-use plastic use by 50%.

Looking ahead

We will continue monitoring and reporting on our initiatives to ensure accountability and improvement.

ESG is not a destination but a journey we commit to every day.

Combating modern slavery

Defining the challenge

Modern slavery is a serious crime and a gross violation of human rights. It manifests in forms such as slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking, all of which involve the exploitation of individuals through the deprivation of their liberty for personal or commercial gain.

Zero-tolerance stance

  • Ethical integrity: United upholds a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery across all aspects of its operations.

  • Proactive systems: We enforce robust policies and controls to ensure that modern slavery has no place in our business or supply chains.

  • Transparency: Our practices align with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 to maintain accountability and openness.

Who it applies to

This policy applies to everyone working for or on behalf of United, including employees, directors, agency workers, contractors, and business partners. By embedding these principles, we ensure a collective commitment to eradicating modern slavery in all its forms.
